INDIGENOUS
GIRLS & WOMEN

Promoting, empowering, and supporting Indigenous Athletes from coast to coast to coast from all over Turtle Island.

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

Empower Indigenous women and girls through hockey by promoting confidence, leadership, wellness, cultural pride, and community connection.

To create accessible, inclusive, culturally-grounded hockey opportunities that develop athletic skills, foster leadership, and support long-term participation from grassroots to elite levels.

Goal: Remove barriers so that ALL Indigenous girls can play hockey.

Cultural Identity & Belonging

Athletic & Personal Development

Strengthen Cultural Identity

This element ensures hockey is a space where Indigenous women and girls feel safe, respected, and seen. Whereas they are woven into the programs to strengthen identity, pride, and belonging both on and off the ice.

Beyond skill-building in hockey, our program supports leadership, confidence, teamwork, mental wellness, and goal-setting. Athletes are encouraged to grow as whole individuals to develop discipline, resilience, and self-belief that carries into education, career, and life.

When we promote and empower Indigenous athletes through our platforms, it's essential to acknowledge the Indigenous nation from which the athlete is registered, thereby bringing pride to both the athlete and their Indigenous community.

Values.

Empowerment

Respect & Reciprocity

  • Indigenous women and girls are leaders, role models, and decision-makers. Hockey becomes a tool for building confidence, self-worth, and voice, which empowers participants to take pride in who they are and to lead within their teams, families, and communities.

  • Grounded in Indigenous teachings, this value emphasizes respect for self, teammates, opponents, coaches, Elders, and the game itself. Reciprocity means giving back by supporting younger players, honoring the community, and uplifting others as one rises.

Intergenerational Impact

  • By investing in Indigenous women and girls today, it builds pathways for future athletes, coaches, officials, and leaders by ensuring hockey becomes a source of strength, representation, and continuity for years to come.
